My clients are not the only ones who have fallen head over heels for this mid length hairstyle. Internet blogs and discussion boards are buzzing about this new mid length hairstyle too!

“New Mid Length Hairstyle”How to Get this Mid Length Hairstyle

Katie has naturally smooth, straight hair that is of a medium thickness. This hair type is ideal for this mid length hairstyle, but not absolutely necessary to get the end result.
If you have hair like Katie’s, ask your hairdresser to cut a mid length bob with layering throughout and lots of texture.

To style it, blow dry until 75% dry and then use a round brush to dry the rest into this style. Use a small amount of wax to get the texture and piecey-ness seen on Katie’s hairstyle.

If your hair is thick and wavy like mine, you’ll want to ask your hair dresser for basically the same thing but have them add additional texture to get this hairstyle to lay just right. I would suggest blow drying with a paddle brush and flat ironing hair, flipping out the ends. Use a bit of pomade on the ends to add texture and shine.

If you have thin and/or fine hair, you’ll want to ask for layering but have your hair dresser go easy on the texturizing as it can thin out your hair too much. Use a root amplifier like Sexy Hair, Big Sexy Hair Root Pump or other volumizing products, instead of texturizing hair products, which may weigh down your hair, to create Katie’s mid length hairstyle.

Whether you have long hair, short hair or hair that is somewhere in-between, here are some  ideas for 2010 that you can easily recreate at home!

Retro waves are all the rage right now whether you have short or long hair and they are easy to achieve with just a little practice. If

• Start with clean, dry hair. Put aside your volumizing products for the moment and use an appropriate shampoo & conditioner for your hair type.
• Towel dry and apply a mousse or styling product like Sebastian Whipped Crèm
• Let hair air dry, then blow dry with a paddle brush to smooth the hair cuticle.
• Part hair deep to one side and spray with a heat protectant like, Kenra Thermal Styling Spray.

Homecoming Hairstyles for Medium Length Hair

Well, the summer months are falling behind us and the winter months are quickly approaching. While many people are beginning their early Christmas shopping, the majority of women are not looking forward to the hat head and dehydrated hair associated with winter. This winter, hit the ground running with a few winter hair care tips you didn't know.

The Hat Head

Alright, you know that winter is cold and inevitably you will have to deal with hat head from time to time. The worst part about hat head is not the fact that you need to wear a hat, they can actually be quite stylish, it is the static that is associated with the hat after your remove it.

This winter try sticking to a cotton hat instead of those wool hats you are used to. The wool hat produces far more static electricity than the cotton hat. When wearing a cotton winter hat you will be able to keep just as warm without dealing with the fly aways after you remove the hat.

Detangle With Ease

The dehydration of the skin associated with winter wreaks the same havoc on the hair. After getting out of the shower, towel dry your locks gently. Spray a leave in conditioner into the hair and comb through using a wide toothed comb. When you encounter a knot, be gentle with the hair and do not tug the comb through further damaging the hair and possibly the root.

For added moisture, try mayonnaise or eggs on the hair. These natural moisture trappers will keep the hair soft and moist all winter long.
